Green The Bid Launches The Complete Green Service Company Production Manual

Green The Bid has launched The Complete Green Service Company Production Manual. Designed in partnership with Miranda Romero, Sustainability Production Consultant for The Lift, Mexico, and with the collaboration of many service companies and networks, including Compass Rose, GPN and PSN, the Green Service Company Production Manual is a comprehensive sustainable practice resource for international production companies.

Acknowledging that sustainability looks different from market to market, the manual has been designed to support the staff, crews and vendors of international service companies in communicating and implementing their best practices at a local level, with resources designed to be translated or localized by the companies making use of them.

The manual is packed with practical strategies and guidelines to promote environmental responsibility no matter where a shoot takes place, and also serves as a valuable reference for stakeholders, agencies, brands, and partners who are interested in understanding the sustainability initiatives undertaken by their global partner companies and markets.

The guide features resources and contributions by Boogie Films, Compass Rose, Global Production Network, Le Grand Danois, Green Eyes, The Lift, Nicocorp, and Production Service Network.

“Green The Bid’s new service production manual  — born out of a collaboration with service companies around the globe — clearly demonstrates how committed we all are to making sustainability a priority in our markets. Because the source of the guidelines, templates and examples stem from this international collaboration, the information within the manual is that much more practical, authentic, and inspiring for service companies who believe in the importance of sustainable practices,” notes Pavla Burgetova Callegari, MD / Executive Producer Global, Compass Rose.  “In my view, the sheer existence of this manual will raise awareness among agencies, brands and production companies regarding just how much can be done to support sustainable productions overseas. Until now, this is an option that has not been given wide consideration. There is so much potential here, and I find it so exciting.”

“As a sustainability consultancy we’ve seen a tremendous change within the industry in the past three years. We mainly operate in regions where production service jobs are booming. There’s definitely a need and desire for a top down-bottom up approach,” comments  Zsofia Szemeredy, Co-Founder, GreenEyes Production. “Crews on the ground are more inclined to care about sustainability than in the past, but it is a real incentive to have the studios, production companies, clients, key decision makers establishing a framework for sustainability from the start and putting their foot down, that the green aspect is truly a consideration on their project. Then we can make real changes on the ground.”

"Embracing sustainability on production sets is not just an option; it is an urgent necessity for our planet's future,” explains Miranda Romero, Sustainability Production Consultant for The Lift. “As members of the creative industry, we have the opportunity to minimize our ecological footprint, inspire change, and pave the way for a more sustainable tomorrow."

“In an era where sustainability is key, production service companies face the challenge of minimizing their ecological footprint while delivering exceptional results. Recognizing this pressing need, this comprehensive manual provides a roadmap for businesses to embrace sustainable strategies, bringing together the power of responsible international production practices to protect our planet and shape a more resilient world.” – The Lift

"Input from the production trenches in dozens of countries makes this manual for sustainable production a uniquely valuable industry resource. Sensible suggestions of how to communicate objectives and the associated costs to industry stakeholders are fundamental to the decisions already impacting live action filming abroad," says Production Service Network EP & Co-Founder, Michael Moffett. "At PSN, we're especially pleased to have contributed input from our boots on the ground partners in dozens of countries. The result is a set of practical guidelines for production service companies which also enlightens brands and agencies about all that is required, and all that can be achieved when we're all doing our part."
